Why grades move
Where the improvement usually comes from
Students rarely fail Business because they do not know it. They lose marks in four predictable places, and this is where the grade movement comes from.
All four are teachable, quickly. That is why grades tend to move faster in this subject than families expect.
- Not answering the question that was asked, but the one they revised for.
- Application that names the case-study firm without ever using it.
- Analysis that stops one link too early — a consequence stated, but not followed through.
- Evaluation with no judgement in it, or a judgement with no justification behind it.
